Hi,
I am a SQL Server DBA and i am testing sql server 2008/2012 bencmarking and capacity. As we are planning to upgrade our Servers, Servers are used in trading with excessive writes on a database where reads are not of much concern. I have few questions for benchmarking and sql server capacity which are listed below, please answer below questions.
1> SQL Server 2008 maximum writes per second capacity. That is how much writes SQL Server can perform irrespective of its disks and Ram allocated on Server?
2> How much data in bytes/sec sql server 2008 can write per sec. I mean is there some kind of limit that sql server can write x bytes/sec of data and not more than that.
3> How much writes and reads per second individually sql server perform?
Is there any kind of blog or whitepaper in which sql server io capacity and benchmarking limits had been performed. Kindly help me resolve above questions.
