Difference between uniqueidentifier and uiquifier?

Hi,

I see there is a uniqueidentifier data type when creating a new field in SQL Server Management Studio. However, another expert told me there is also a data type called uniquifier. Their names are similar, but I cannot find documents on uniquifier. What is this data type and what is the difference between uniquifier and uniqueidentifier?
